meet zoey

so eric and i had been looking at golden retrievers for a realllllly long time but could never find one that met our very particular requirements (ie: dark red, small parents, girl, etc.). eric was leaving for his 2 weeks of summer training and i decided shortly before he left that i had to surprise him with one for his birthday. so literally hours after eric left for tennessee, i started calling breeders and hit the jackpot w/the very first one. i went to visit the family the next day and absolutely fell in love with "mrs. claus" as i like to refer to her (because she had a red and green necklace on) and i played with her for a few hours. i came home that night and told my mom i had already bought her (which in fact i had not) but it became ingrained in my mind that i had truly already bought her. i thought about her sweet face all night and woke up the next morning with a gut feeling she was "the one". i called the breeder and returned to play with mrs. claus for my golden fix and fell in love with her more and more each second.

a week passed and i picked her up on sunday, july 20th with a great excitement and need for adventure. i took her to my parents for the day and we played with her in the yard all day. i kept looking at her adorable face and it just made my heart melt. she played in her water bowl, admired the pool, ate lots of sticks, and took lots of puppy naps. i could not wait for eric to get home so that i could show her off. :)

i'm going to keep everyone posted on her latest and greatest adventures so check back often...hopefully my next post will be about her newest accomplishment: potty training. shes close but still too far away....sooooon :)
